FAQ

How long do rabbits live?

Typically 8 to 12 years for a standard healthy rabbit.

Rabbits love fruit and carrots. How much can I feed them?

They don’t store sugar as other mammals and excess sugar affects the microbe balance in the caecum. Caecal dysfunction may not be evident until advanced with disease causing microbes taking advantage of the sugar fuel, harming your rabbit or possibly resulting in a worse fate.

How much exercise for my rabbit?

Their travel cage in a puppy play pen enables your rabbit to be moved easily and experience different surroundings, maintaining exploring activity. However, a daily run out of the pen in a controlled environment for 20 to 30 minutes keeps muscles firm.

Is my RABVET Rabbit safe to mix with other rabbits?

No. Diseases such as snuffles and typical rabbit parasites that can cause harm are eliminated from RABVET Rabbits, but a standard rabbit could reinfect your bunny. Furthermore, it is possible to lose the imprinting to the owner if too much socialising occurs with another rabbit. Your rabbit looks forward to being with you—the human bond is strong.

Can I use a typical rabbit hutch to house my rabbit?

Yes you can. However, some designs increase fear and require more cleaning.

My rabbit panics when picked up by a stranger. What should I do?

All rabbits can be startled, particularly from someone they don’t know (smell, sound and look different) and who is not familiar with handling a rabbit. Slow, quiet introductions are required so as to not overwhelm their senses.

Can I take my rabbit for a holiday or visit?

Certainly, just beware of insects that can transfer rabbit viruses. Mosquito nets work well over your rabbit’s travel cage and/or pen.
